Abstract
Through the curriculum the educational system above all has fostered the cognitive field, leaving aside emotional intelligence and ignoring the development of the emotional competences of the students. In order to confront the success of the schooling it is imperative to know and recognize the emotions, learn in a proper way to manage them and also to have a good command of the social abilities. Teachers detect the necessity to include emotional intelligence in the classrooms. That is why, before the application of any emotional educational program it is essential that the educational professionals develop their own emotional competencies through formation. It is here presented a work in which a program of emotional education trough music and their evaluation have been elaborated. We have used a design of evaluative investigation with an experimental group and a control group. The results show that the program has risen the self-perspective of the students and that two groups in the different variables considered have been identified; the group with better results show us also better punctuations in the emotional aspect. The importance of the results lies in that we can identify some of the key components to make an authentic formative evaluation. This way, we see how the formation in emotional education trough music can and must be integrated and evaluated in the formation of both teachers and students.
