Abstract
Children also suffer from diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases. Faced with a decisive diagnosis, the parents of these children face a cruel and inevitable reality: the death of a child. However, in this type of disease the process of dying is not usually imminent, but progressive, where parents live together in anticipation of an inevitable future. The literature on these diseases and what they entail is not extensive, so there are no programs focused on these types of sufferers. In order to provide tools and a safe space in which parents in this situation can go through their anticipated grief, the creation of a specific early mourning program is proposed, using a participatory methodology that combines different cognitive-behavioral techniques, gestálticas, logoterapéuticas, in addition to coming from acceptance and engagement therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. To do this, 14 sessions are organized divided into 5 phases, focused on one’s own awareness of needs, emotional expression, providing psycho-educational information about early grief, transitioning suffering, addressing the coping with death, promoting healthy links and the search for meaning. Finally, after the realization of the program, it is intended to have achieved an improvement in the quality of life of the participants, a greater awareness about their process of anticipated grief, as well as a better coping with the situation in which they find themselves.
