Educación y liderazgo: una convergencia necesaria

Abstract

La educación es fundamental para el desarrollo de las personas y de las sociedades. Ilustres figuras como Comenio, Rousseau, Giner de los Ríos o el padre Manjón defendieron esta postura, poniendo su atención en el profesor, que detenta la responsabilidad de ser el último eslabón de unión entre el sistema educativo y el discente y el que, de hecho, está en contacto continuo y permanente con él. Por ello, el docente ha de ser y actuar como un líder para con sus alumnos, debiendo tener una gran inteligencia emocional y buscando, como único objetivo, el bien de estos, iniciándolos y guiándolos por la apasionante travesía del conocimiento hasta que puedan recorrer este camino por ellos mismos. Ha de conseguir motivarlos y despertar en ellos la pasión por el saber, haciendo que le sigan, no por la potestas que le otorga el cargo, sino por la auctoritas que los alumnos le otorgan al confíar en él. Por tanto, educación y liderazgo son dos elementos clave que han de converger si lo que queremos es que nuestro sistema educativo sea de calidad y forme no solo a personas completas y grandes profesionales, sino que también a nuestros líderes del mañana.

Education is fundamental to the development of people and the societies. Illustrious figures like Comenius, Rousseau, Giner de los Ríos or father Manjón defended, turning their attention to the teacher who holds the responsibility of being the last link of union between the educational system and the learner and in fact, he is in continuous contact with him, must have a great emotional intelligence and seeking, as his main objective, the good of the students, introducing and guiding them through the journey of the knowledge until they can walk this path for themselves. He has to motivate and awake in them the passion for learning, making them to follow him, not by the potestas that granted the post of professor, but because by the auctoritas what students give because they trust him. Therefore, education and leadership are two key elements which have to converge if what we really want is to have a high quality educational system which not only educates complete people and great professionals, but also forms our leaders of tomorrow.
