Giro semántico lingüístico y medios de comunicación: nuevas propuestas educativas para la cohesión e integración social en contextos de pluralidad cultural

Abstract

Diversas investigaciones han revelado el impacto significativo del lenguaje de los medios de comunicación sobre la opinión pública, prejuicios e imaginarios sociocognitivos respecto a determinados grupos de inmigrantes. Otros trabajos lo han hecho sobre la significativa percepción negativa respecto a la movilidad humana, debido a la constante asociación de los conceptos de inmigración e inmigrante con enfoques negativos en la cobertura informativa que realizan algunos de estos medios, visibilizando y utilizando la figura del “inmigrante”, principalmente cuando se le asocia a un suceso negativo como las catástrofes, el crimen organizado, el terrorismo, la delincuencia y la inseguridad, entre otros casos. De ahí que la opinión pública tenga más presentes estas imágenes negativas, creadas por los medios. En este artículo se plantea el giro semántico lingüístico (GSL) como un nuevo paradigma educativo de la enseñanza; este supone una alternativa de cambio a esta violencia cultural y propone nuevos discursos favorables para la cohesión e integración social en cualquier contexto educativo de pluralidad sociocultural, como es el caso de España.

Several researches have revealed significant impacts of the media language on the public opinions, prejudices, and socio-cognitive perspectives about certain groups of immigrants. Other investigations have highighted the significant negative perception regarding human mobility due to the constant association of the inmigration and immigrant concepts to negative frames in the informative coverage made by some of these mass Media visibilizing and using the figure of the “immigrants” mostly when they associate them to a negative event such as catastrophes, crimes, terrorism, insecurity, delinquency, among others. Hence, in the public opinion, it is mainly known these negative perceptions and images created by the Media. In this article, the Semantic Linguistic Turn is proposed to be a new educational paradigm of teaching as an alternative of change to the current cultural violence against the human mobility; building new significant and favorable speeches for social cohesion and integration in educative context of socio-cultural plurality as is the current situation of Spain.
