Notas para una Lingüística Aristotélica

Abstract

Aristóteles no llegó a desarrollar una auténtica teoría lingüística, sin embargo, de su corpus se desprende una notable preocupación por la cuestión del lenguaje humano. Partiendo del De interpretatione (Περὶ Ἑρμηνείας), su tratado más lingüístico, analizamos, discutimos y ponemos en perspectiva una serie de conceptos importantes para la historia de la Lingüística que fueron tratados por el estagirita.

Aristoteles did not develop a true Linguistic Theory. Nonetheless, as his corpus shows, he had a deep interest in the issue of human language. Focusing on De interpretatione, his most “linguistic” treaty, this essay analyses, discusses and puts in perspective some of the most relevant points studied by the Stagirite in the field of the History of Linguistics.
