Es razonable creer. Por qué el mundo es: materialismo o fe razonada

Abstract

“Creer es razonable” quiere ser un tratado sencillo de Filosofía de la Religión, al alcance de cualquier persona de cultura media, y sin una especial formación en Filosofía ni Teología. No obstante pretende plantear y resolver con rigor académico una serie de cuestiones que el cristianismo actual encuentra en su ambiente cultural y a las que debe dar una respuesta, si quiere vivir su fe de un modo reflexivo y crítico. La finalidad con la que ha sido escrito es, pues, justificar ante la propia razón y ante los demás esa forma de vivir que llamamos existencia creyente, en un momento de la historia en el que el cristianismo se siente muchas veces acosado por ideas y opiniones que difieren sustancialmente de las doctrinas y valores de la propia fe y que pueden llevarle a interrogarse seriamente sobre la verdad y el fundamento de sus convicciones religiosas.

“Believe is reasonable” wants to be a simple treatise about Philosophy of the Religion, which is understandable by any person with a certain cultural level but without a especific education in Phylosophy and Theology. Nevertheless, it aims to contemplate and resolve with academic rigour series of questions which are dealt by the current Christianity in its cultural context and should be answered if it wants to live its faith in a reflexive and critical way. The aim for writing this book is to justify this way of living, which we call “believer existence”, faced with the own reason and the rest of the people, in a moment in the history when the Christianity feels itself overwhelmed by ideas and opinions which substantially difere from other doctrines and values of the own faith and can lead to question seriously the truth and the basis of the religious convictions.
