Abstract
: El dolor lumbar (DL) constituye una de las principales causas
de incapacidad. Existen diferentes factores de riesgo para padecerlo como la
inactividad física o el levantamiento de peso. El Crossfit es un deporte conocido por
su potencial lesivo, pese a esto, contribuye a un estilo de vida activo y a la movilidad
y fuerza muscular beneficiosas para la columna lumbar. En cambio, el sedentarismo
tiene numerosos efectos deletéreos para la salud general, y la salud lumbar en
concreto. El objetivo consiste en comparar la incidencia de DL en practicantes de
Crossfit y en sedentarios. La hipótesis de partida es que la práctica de Crossfit es
un factor protector frente a DL.
Low back pain (LBP) is one of the main causes of disability. There are many risk factors to suffer from it, such as physical inactivity or weight lifting. Crossfit is known for its high risk of injury, nevertheless, it helps to an active lifestyle, and it contributes to mobility and muscular strength, that are beneficial for the lumbar spine. On the other hand, sedentary lifestyle has detrimental consequences in general health, and specifically in lumbar health. The aim of this study is to compare the incidence of LBP between Crossfit practitioners and people with a sedentary lifestyle.
