Abstract
Pulmonary thromboembolism is a serious condition with potentially significant consequences, including death. Its diagnosis is complex due to its nonspecific and variable presentation. Capnography is closely related to the pathophysiology of the condition and could have a diagnostic role. The aim is to conduct a bibliography review on capnography, analyzing the proposed cutoff points for the variables ETCO2 and AVDSf, to evaluate the diagnostic value of their isolated interpretation, and the impact of combining them with D-dimer or clinical risk predictor scales.
