Síndrome de dificultad respiratoria aguda por COVID-19 en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital de la Ribera: Descripción de casos y análisis de la mortalidad

Abstract

La bibliografía sugiere que no todos los pacientes con SDRA por SARS-CoV-2 pueden ser englobados dentro de las formas clásicas del SDRA. Se han descritos diferencias fisiopatológicas y radiológicas significativas entre pacientes con infección por SARS-CoV-2, por lo que se ha propuesto la tipificación de la enfermedad para poder adecuar el manejo y tratamiento de esta. El objetivo consiste en describir las características del SDRA por SARS-CoV-2 en los pacientes ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) del Hospital de La Ribera.

The bibliography suggests that not all patients with COVID-19 can be included within the classic forms of ARDS. Different pathophysiological mechanisms and significant radiological differences have been described among patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection, so some authors have proposed the typification of the disease in order to adapt its management and treatment. The objective is to describe the characteristics of ARDS due to SARS-CoV-2 in patients admitted to the medical critical care unit (MCCU) in La Ribera Hospital (Spain).
