Estudio piloto comparativo entre los resultados obtenidos en posturografía dinámica y el fallskip en pacientes con hipofunción vestibular

Abstract

La hipofunción vestibular tiene una elevada prevalencia, y la inestabilidad que presentan estos pacientes puede limitar su calidad de vida, al generar dificultad en la deambulación y caídas. En este estudio se pretende comparar los resultados obtenidos de la valoración de la estabilidad de un grupo de pacientes con hipofunción vestibular mediante posturografía dinámica con el riesgo de caída de los mismos, medido mediante el sistema FallSkip®. Además, se quiere averiguar si presentan mayor riesgo de caída que la población general.

Vestibular hypofunction has a high prevalence, and the instability that these patients present can limit their quality of life, causing difficulty in ambulation and falls. The aim of this study is to compare the results obtained from the evaluation of the stability of a group of patients with vestibular hypofunction by dynamic posturography with their risk of falling, measured by the FallSkip® system. Besides, it is intended to find out if they have a higher risk of falling than the general population.
