Abstract

La educación es un derecho inalienable de todo hombre y una obligación gravísima de los padres que deben cumplir con libertad pues pertenece a la propia naturaleza del ser padres, a su misión como tales. Los padres de familia tienen la misión peculiar de impregnar y perfeccionar con el espíritu evangélico las realidades seculares; han de trabajar en la vida de familia, la libertad de enseñanza y la libertad religiosa, buscando la justicia social desde la verdad del hombre. Esta misión peculiar se ha de realizar con iniciativa y creatividad pero con respeto a la doctrina social de la Iglesia. Los padres de familia necesitan la cooperación de otros, también de la sociedad civil, un concepto amplio que conviene analizar críticamente.

The education is an inalienable right of every man and a grave obligation of parents who have to fulfil with freedom since it belongs to the very nature of being parents, to his mission as such. Parents have the special mission of permeate and improve with the evangelical spirit the secular realities; they have to work on family life, freedom of education and religious freedom, looking for social justice from the truth about man. This particular mission is to be performed with initiative and creativity but with respect to the social doctrine of the Church. Parents need the cooperation of others, including civil society, a broad concept that should be analysed critically.
