Tratamiento quirúrgico mediante reducción abierta y fijación interna vs tratamiento conservador en fracturas proximales de húmero

Abstract

: Las fracturas proximales del húmero (PHF) se encuentran entre las fracturas más comunes en los adultos mayores, y pese a esto, todavía no existe un protocolo claro en cuanto a la estrategia de tratamiento más adecuada a seguir. Es por ello que se realizó este estudio, para intentar determinar el procedimiento que más se aproxime a una mayor tasa de éxito y un menor número de complicaciones: si el tratamiento conservador o el tratamiento quirúrgico mediante reducción abierta y fijación con placa de bloqueo (ORIF). Se incluyeron 4 estudios; Fjalestad et al., Olerud et al., Zyto et al. y Launonen et al., con un total de 118 pacientes con tratamiento conservador y 119 pacientes con tratamiento quirúrgico. De estos estudios, 2 usan el cuestionario EQ-5D, 2 el DASH, y los 4 el CMS.

That is why this study was carried out, to try to determine the procedure that most closely approximates a higher success rate and fewer complications: whether conservative treatment or surgical treatment through open reduction and fixation with a locking plate (ORIF). 4 studies were included; Fjalestad et al., Olerud et al., Zyto et al. and Launonen et al., with a total of 118 patients with conservative treatment and 119 patients with surgical treatment.
