El diálogo interreligioso como medio de protección de la libertad religiosa ante los ataques de la libertad de expresión

Abstract

La ponencia se va a centrar en responder a la cuestión fundamental de si son libertades reconciliables la libertad religiosa y la libertad de expresión. No habría auténtica libertad religiosa si no fuera posible el diálogo interreligioso que presume la libertad de expresión sobre un mismo tema. Los ataques no son nunca una actitud de diálogo sino de confrontación por afirmarse en una postura que se entiende cerrada y excluyente. El diálogo interreligioso resulta ser el ámbito más propicio para escuchar y aprender de esa diversidad que brota de la inmensa riqueza del acto creador.

The presentation will focus on responding to the fundamental issue of whether religious freedom and freedom of expression are irreconcilable freedoms. There can be no genuine religious freedom without inter-faith dialogue based on freedom of expression on a particular topic. Attacks are never part of a mindset that is open to dialogue, they are confrontational and intended to reinforce a stance understood as closed and excluding. Inter-faith dialogue is the most favourable environment for listening and learning from the diversity that springs from the immense wealth of the act of creation.
