Abstract
Fibromyalgia (FM) is a pathology characterized by chronic generalized musculoskeletal pain of unknown etiology. Its diagnosis is purely clinical, since it doesn't rely on any specific analytical, imaging or anatomical test, being determined from the symptoms that the patient himself shows and the findings the doctor finds when exploring the "tender points". Through this program, and based on the psychotherapeutic group coping program conducted by the Generalitat Valenciana (2010-2013), what can be done is an individualized intervention in a multidisciplinary way, including the patient and his family closest. The methodology used in the development of the program will consist of 19 sessions, of which 14 of them will be focused on the patient with FM, our main focus of attention, with the aim of improving their quality of life and reducing the associated symptomatology. The remaining 5 sessions will focus on the closest family member (couple, parent, child ...), in order to provide the necessary tools to deal with the patient and the disease. All of them will be addressed individually, both with the patient and with the family member, and independent of each other, with a duration of around 45-60 minutes and with a weekly frequency.
