Uso del vídeo como herramienta empoderadora del paciente crónico

Abstract

Introducción: Cada vez con más frecuencia se utiliza el vídeo como herramienta educativa, ya que está al alcance de todos y resulta ser un instrumento de aprendizaje dinámico y que permite recordar la información con mayor facilidad. Este formato audiovisual tiene muchas ventajas, como su bajo coste, la rapidez de divulgación y la posible interacción entre usuarios. (31) Objetivos: Con la siguiente revisión, se desea determinar si el uso del vídeo educativo de ámbito sanitario en pacientes adultos con enfermedades crónicas, es efectivo o no, para el automanejo de éstas, según la bibliografía. Material y metodología: Se ha utilizado la metodología PRISMA para llevar a cabo esta revisión bibliográfica sistemática, realizada entre el 20 de octubre de 2019 y el 20 de Abril de 2020. Los artículos que han sido revisados, se han recogido a través de bases de datos de contenido científico. Resultados: Tras revisar 14 artículos de diferentes autores, se ha podido observar que los estudios indican la efectividad de diversas herramientas audiovisuales, inclusive el vídeo, como un instrumento eficaz para la mejora de los cuidados relacionados con patologías crónicas. Conclusiones: El vídeo es eficaz para mejorar los cuidados y la calidad de vida de los pacientes crónicos y ayudar a los cuidadores, tanto si son ellos mismos los que tienen la iniciativa de recurrir a esta herramienta, como si es el profesional sanitario el que se la ofrece.

Introduction: Video is increasingly used as an educational tool, since it is within everyone's reach and it turns out to be a dynamic learning instrument that makes it easier to remember information. This audiovisual format has many advantages, such as its low cost, speed of dissemination and possible interaction between users. Objectives: With the following review, we want to determine if the use of educational video in the health field in adult patients with chronic diseases is effective or not, for their self-management, according to the bibliography. Material and methodology: The PRISMA methodology has been used to carry out this systematic bibliographic review, conducted between October 20, 2019 and April 20, 2020. The articles that have been reviewed have been collected through platforms of scientific character. Results: After reviewing 14 articles by different authors, it has been observed that the studies indicate the effectiveness of various audiovisual tools, including video, as an effective instrument for improving care related to chronic pathologies. Conclusions: The video is effective so that patients or caregivers can improve the care and quality of life of chronic patients. Both if they themselves have the initiative to use this tool, or if it is the health professional who offers it.
